Orchard Green serves American and Mediterranean cooking on South Gilbert Street in Iowa City. Owner and executive chef Bryan Herzic builds the menu around seasonal ingredients, with a main dining room and a more casual downstairs lounge. Seafood is a substantial strand. Bouillabaisse combines fish, prawns, scallops and mussels; pistachio-crusted whitefish and sweetcorn-crusted walleye give individual fish dishes their own character. Duck with cherry sauce, pork saltimbocca and steaks broaden the choice, while vegetable risotto and cheese tortellini provide meat-free options. Boards of smoked fish, charcuterie or artisan cheese suit sharing. The lounge offers smaller dishes and sandwiches, and the drinks selection includes hand-picked wines and house cocktails.
