Oro

Fire is the organising element at Oro, but Felipe Bronze uses it to explore a much wider range of Brazilian flavours than the word grill might suggest. The Leblon restaurant on Avenida General San Martin combines a visible kitchen with a polished dining room, giving guests a sense of the work behind the tasting menus without overwhelming the meal with spectacle. The kitchen's documented ideas range from oysters with guava to interpretations of familiar local references, including the Cervantes sandwich. Such combinations make the restaurant particularly interesting for travellers: regional ingredients and popular food memories become material for a carefully structured gastronomic experience. The Criatividade and Afetividade menus provide different routes through that thinking, with Cecília Aldaz's wine programme contributing another layer of interpretation. Oro holds two Michelin stars in the 2026 Rio guide. Its place at the head of this selection reflects the coherence of chef, technique and cultural context. A dinner here offers an ambitious reading of Brazilian food while remaining connected to flavours and associations beyond the fine-dining room. Set aside an evening and let the menu determine the pace.
