Ox
Iceland

ÓX is Þráinn Freyr Vigfússon's 17-seat restaurant, hidden behind an unobtrusive door on Laugavegur in Reykjavík. The meal follows a multi-course sequence using Icelandic ingredients in modern interpretations of traditional local cooking. A kitchen counter brings guests close to the preparation, with reused cupboards from the chef's grandmother's kitchen contributing to the room's personal character. Amma Don, the associated cocktail bar, is modelled on another grandmother's living room, extending that domestic inspiration beyond the dining counter. Dinner is the main service, with a Saturday lunch option. The small number of seats makes the experience closely connected to the kitchen and its changing menu.
