Pontchartrain Hotel

The Pontchartrain Hotel occupies a 1927 building beside New Orleans’ Garden District streetcar route. Its 14 storeys retain the scale of a historic city hotel, while the rooms introduce lacquered black and mint-green tones, Moroccan rugs and layered textures inspired by the neighbourhood’s vegetation. Food and drink give the property a lively public side. Jack Rose combines dining rooms with a living-room setting and a garden patio; the hotel has four restaurants and bars in total. At the top, Hot Tin serves cocktails in a room inspired by a 1940s artist’s loft. Its broad views take in downtown New Orleans and the Mississippi River, making the rooftop a distinct part of the hotel experience.
