Restaurant August

Restaurant August occupies a 19th-century French-Creole building on Tchoupitoulas Street in New Orleans’ Central Business District. Original architectural details shape the dining room, with hardwood floors, columns, mahogany panelling and antique mirrors retaining the character of the former warehouse. The restaurant opened in 2001. Executive chef Corey Thomas brings French techniques to contemporary Creole cooking, with ingredients sourced from Louisiana and the surrounding region. The food reflects the same combination of local history and French influence as the building, drawing on southern Louisiana produce while giving it a classically trained treatment.
