Roça Sundy

Roça Sundy occupies two restored plantation buildings on Príncipe, Eclipse House and Cacao House. The boutique hotel’s architecture connects a stay with the island’s cacao history, including the difficult legacy of plantation labour. The property was once home to the Sundy plantation owners. Its restoration allows visitors to experience that historic setting while using the hotel as a base for exploring Príncipe. Dining focuses on the island’s culinary traditions and locally sourced ingredients. The kitchen follows the seasons and reduces reliance on imported produce, with lighter choices available through the Leve-Leve menu. Roça Sundy therefore brings history and local food together, giving travellers reasons to spend time at the property as well as explore beyond it.
