Royal Melbourne, West
88 Cheltenham Rd, Black Rock VIC 3193, Australia
Royal Melbourne's West Course is a central reference for Australian golf architecture. Sandy ground, expansive bunkering and carefully angled greens make the choice of position as important as the quality of the strike. Its reputation is architectural, while its private-club setting makes visitor access a separate question to resolve. The West and East courses are distinct, and the tournament Composite is a combination rather than a third ordinary booking option. A proposed visit must identify which course will be played. Do not assume that a championship television routing is available to a visitor on request. Apply through Royal Melbourne's official visitor or reciprocal process. Confirm eligibility, the West Course allocation, handicap documentation, dress and any caddie arrangements. Before travelling, ask for the current course conditions and the full cost of the intended round, including any required services. Keep the written confirmation with the itinerary, and allow enough time for check-in and preparation rather than arriving at the scheduled tee time.
