Heart Reef's distinctive shape is best appreciated from above, on a scenic flight from the Whitsundays. Compare flight routes carefully: some include Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet, while others combine the aerial view with a stop at a nearby reef pontoon. Swimming and snorkelling are not permitted at the heart-shaped formation itself. Book with some flexibility for weather and check flight duration, seating arrangements and passenger requirements. This is a special outing for seeing the reef's scale and colour.
