Shang Palace at Shangri-La Changchun combines Cantonese cooking with the Dongbei traditions of northeast China. Its second-floor dining room on Xian Road uses traditional Chinese décor, with dim sum forming an important part of the lunch offer. Signature dishes include steamed Hele crab with minced pork and water chestnut, steamed brown-spotted grouper and chicken stewed with fish maw in pumpkin soup. Baked chicken with sea whelk, ginger and spring onion adds another seafood-and-poultry combination. An à la carte menu and wine selection accompany the dim sum, allowing meals to range from a collection of smaller dishes to a fuller Chinese dinner.
