Shangri-La Hangzhou occupies the West Wing of the longstanding hotel on Beishan Road, along West Lake's northern shore. The current property contains 198 rooms and suites and places the lakeside within a short walk. The East Wing was reimagined in 2025 as the separate Silk Lakehouse concept, making the distinction between the two properties relevant when choosing accommodation. Shangri-La Hangzhou continues to operate in the West Wing. Two restaurants provide different dining formats. Shang Palace concentrates on Hangzhou and Cantonese dishes, while Coffee Garden serves buffet meals. The setting makes the lake central to a stay while keeping regional cooking close at hand.
