Sheldon Chalet stands on a rocky outcrop above the Ruth Glacier in Denali National Park, at an elevation of 6,000 feet. Reached by helicopter from Anchorage or Talkeetna, the hexagonal building opens towards the peaks of the Don Sheldon Amphitheater and Denali. Five bedrooms accommodate up to ten guests, with two shared full bathrooms and a common room containing a fireplace, library nook and birch dining table. A personal chef prepares meals using local ingredients, while guides shape alpine activities to the group. Outdoor decks and the helipad provide observation spaces for the surrounding mountains and, when conditions allow, the night sky and aurora.
