Shell & Bones Oyster Bar and Grill occupies a waterfront restaurant site in New Haven's historic City Point. The remodelled space draws on the area's nautical history, with clean-lined interiors, water views and a fireplace. Outdoor tables are available when the weather allows. Seafood, steak and the raw bar form the centre of the menu, and the kitchen makes its soups, stocks, sauces and desserts in house. The oyster selection changes daily, drawing from several East Coast growing areas. Recent specials include oysters Rockefeller with ginger and fennel, clams casino with bacon and garlic butter, and basil-crusted Alaskan halibut with lentils and mushroom broth.
