Shipwreck Lodge

Shipwreck Lodge draws its design from the scattered wrecks associated with Namibia's Skeleton Coast. Its angular cabins stand among dunes, bringing the forms of a broken vessel into a remote landscape where desert meets the Atlantic. The main lodge contains a restaurant, lounge and deck, with large windows keeping the sand and sea in view. A stove warms the lounge, creating a sheltered place to return to after exploring this exposed stretch of coast. Guided activities make the surrounding landscape the focus of a stay. Dune drives, desert wildlife excursions and visits to the coastline reveal more than the views visible from a cabin. Beach lunches add another way to experience the Atlantic setting when conditions permit. Access and excursions are integral to the lodge experience, with packages including transfers from Möwe Bay. Shipwreck Lodge is especially compelling for travellers drawn to unusual architecture and remote places, where the accommodation helps tell the story of the landscape around it.
