Singita Ebony Lodge sits among large trees beside the Sand River in the Sabi Sand reserve. Its small collection of suites makes the riverbank an intimate base for a safari in one of South Africa’s established wildlife areas. Each of the twelve suites has a private plunge pool. Elevated decks look towards the river, providing a place to watch the surroundings during the quieter hours between game drives. Family suites include separate en-suite bedrooms and a dining and lounge veranda with a stone fireplace. For a larger private arrangement, the Ebony Villa combines two family suites with additional shared spaces. Ebony’s appeal lies in the relationship between the accommodation and the river landscape. The suites allow guests to remain close to the setting even while resting, while the different family configurations make it possible to share a safari without giving up individual space.
