Sofitel Legend Old Cataract Aswan
Egypt

Old Cataract, Aswan rises from a pink granite cliff above the Nile, opposite Elephantine Island. Its historic Palace accommodation combines classic furnishings, French elegance and Egyptian influences, with selected signature suites opening onto private terraces. The river and the hotel's historic architecture remain the defining features of the stay. Saraya serves Levantine and Mediterranean food, while the Terrace offers lighter dishes and afternoon tea overlooking the water. An outdoor infinity pool also faces the Nile. The hotel is now managed by Mandarin Oriental, with renovation continuing ahead of the full transition planned for 2027; currently available accommodation is concentrated in the Palace.
