Dining at Songtsam Linka Retreat Shangri-La connects the hotel’s Tibetan village setting with the produce of Yunnan’s highlands. The Chinese and Tibetan restaurant serves regional dishes including yak-meat hotpot, while a separate Western restaurant offers a breakfast buffet, à la carte meals and wines with views towards Songzanlin Monastery. Local ingredients receive both traditional and inventive treatment. Featured dishes include mushrooms roasted with yak butter and sprinkled with tsampa, wood-roasted lamb leg, and Nixi chicken soup with dried matsutake. A pastry-topped soup brings together Nixi chicken and Yunnan black truffle.
