State Game Lodge

State Game Lodge is a stone-and-wood lodge dating to 1920 in Custer State Park. It served as Calvin Coolidge’s Summer White House in 1927, giving the property a historical role beyond its position as the park’s largest resort hub. Accommodation ranges from historic rooms in the main lodge to adjoining hotel rooms, Creekside Lodge junior suites and cabins in the valley. Grace Coolidge Creek winds through the setting, while Route 16 A provides access to the park’s scenic roads and Wildlife Loop. Dining includes a restaurant and outdoor patio. Buffalo Safari Jeep Tours depart from the lodge area, with check-in at Creekside Lodge. The variety of accommodation makes it possible to choose a historic room or a more independent cabin while sharing the same park base.
