Sweet Basil has been part of Vail Village since 1977, serving contemporary American food with influences that reach well beyond the mountains. The kitchen combines seasonal vegetables, seafood and meat with ingredients and techniques drawn from Europe and Asia. The menu illustrates that range through dishes such as kanpachi crudo with pineapple and ginger, short rib ramen with white shoyu bone broth, and lobster risotto with preserved lemon and basil. Handmade pasta and seafood sit alongside richer meat dishes, while sticky toffee pudding is among the desserts. Lunch, après-ski dining and dinner are supported by an extensive wine programme.
