Sylvan Lake Lodge
South Dakota

Sylvan Lake Lodge sits among pine and spruce above one of Custer State Park’s most recognisable lakes. At 6,145 feet, the hillside setting brings together forest, granite formations and the scenery near the top of Needles Highway. Accommodation includes lodge rooms and 31 cabins spread through the wooded hillside. The cabins range from sleeping cabins to housekeeping accommodation, giving couples and families different ways to stay in the park. A restaurant and veranda provide a place for a longer meal, while Sylvan Store offers more casual dining and supplies. Hiking is a major part of the surrounding experience. The attraction is the relationship between the lodge and its landscape, with the lake and rocky terrain providing reasons to spend time outdoors.
