Tabon Te Keekee is a small, family-run eco lodge at Abatao in North Tarawa, beside the passage between the lagoon and the ocean. Its accommodation uses traditional bwia shelters, placing the emphasis on an open island setting rather than conventional hotel rooms. Raised beachside huts and overwater accommodation use local materials, including thatched roofs and woven frond walls. Guests share separate toilets and showers, and meals are served in a communal eating area.
