The Billy Motel & Bar is a ten-room stop between Davis and the entrance to Blackwater Falls State Park. Its small scale and sociable lobby place it within the life of the neighbouring mountain towns, with Thomas and Canaan Valley also part of the surrounding area. A fireplace anchors the lobby, where cocktails and French-press coffee bring overnight guests and local visitors together. The motel’s rooms use patterned wallpaper, vintage-style furniture and individual decorative touches, giving the former motor-court format a playful identity. The region supplies the outdoor programme: hiking, cycling, boating and skiing in and around Blackwater Falls, Canaan Valley and Monongahela National Forest. Davis and Thomas add galleries, breweries and music venues between excursions.
