The Brenton Hotel
Rhode Island

The Brenton Hotel faces Newport Harbour at the junction of America's Cup Avenue and Long Wharf. Opened in 2020, the independently owned property takes inspiration from the city's maritime and architectural history while giving guests a contemporary waterfront base. Its 57 rooms and suites use floor-to-ceiling windows to frame the harbour or historic city. Standard rooms include separate seating areas; two-bedroom suites occupy the building's curved glass frontage, where the outlook widens across the water. Selected penthouse accommodation adds private balconies. The Living Room serves breakfast and seasonal small plates, with cocktails, craft beers and wines accompanying meals. Upstairs, the planted rooftop offers another place to look out over Newport and follow the movement of boats through the harbour. The result is a hotel closely connected to its setting. A stay can move easily between the waterfront, the streets of the old city and the quieter perspective from a room above them. Those choosing accommodation should distinguish harbour views from city views, as both form part of the offer.
