The Caves

Negril, Jamaica

The Caves

The Caves occupies the limestone cliffs of Negril's West End, where a small collection of cottages overlooks the Caribbean and the sea caves that give the property its name. Each room has its own character, with colourful fabrics, handcrafted wood furniture and local artwork. The setting is intimate and informal, with the cliffs and water shaping the experience more than a conventional stretch of beach. Accommodation ranges from garden view cottages to ocean facing suites and larger two bedroom layouts. Verandas and outdoor areas provide places to sit with the changing coastal light, while selected cottages include kitchen and living spaces. The resort welcomes guests aged 16 and over. A saltwater swimming pool and spa offer quieter ways to enjoy the setting between swimming, snorkelling or kayaking. Dining uses local produce and Jamaican flavours, moving from jerk barbecues to more elaborate evening meals. Private dinners can be arranged in the Moonbeam and Seastar caves, and the Blackwell Rum Bar occupies another dramatic space near the water. The small scale encourages an unhurried rhythm, with meals, sea views and conversation taking precedence over a busy entertainment programme. It is a distinctive choice for travellers drawn to Jamaica's coastal landscape and individual design.
