The Cincinnatian Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton
Ohio

The Cincinnatian has occupied its downtown corner since 1882, when its eight storeys made it the city’s tallest building. Today it is part of Hilton’s Curio Collection, retaining a link to Cincinnati’s nineteenth-century hotel history at Sixth and Vine. The building’s original character is complemented by locally made artwork. The surviving marble-and-walnut staircase provides a particularly tangible connection to its earlier life, while the accommodation serves the needs of a contemporary city stay. Maverick’s Restobar supplies small plates, dinner dishes, bourbon flights and local craft beer. Kidd Coffee gives the hotel a more casual daytime option, with coffee, pastries and breakfast or lunch choices that work around a day of exploring. The central location is the hotel’s practical strength. For travellers who prefer an established urban building to a purpose-built retreat, it offers a base with a recognisable local history and places to eat and drink under the same roof.
