The Great House

The Great House at Rosewood Luang Prabang brings French and Lao cooking together in a setting designed by Bill Bensley. Its décor imagines the Franco-Lao banquets that nineteenth-century diplomat Auguste Pavie might have hosted, connecting the restaurant's appearance with the history behind its menu. A culinary direction introduced in late 2025 pairs French classics with Lao-inspired plates and seasonal local produce. Dishes include tournedos Rossini, buffalo cheek bourguignon and coq au vin, followed by desserts such as tarte Tatin and crème brûlée. Partnerships with local producers and artisans keep the menu rooted in its Laotian surroundings.
