The Highlander Hotel
Iowa
The Highlander Hotel gives an Iowa City stay a retro, counterculture character, with rooms arranged around indoor and outdoor social spaces. Poolside accommodation includes balconies overlooking the atrium, while other rooms sit farther from the pool and offer private patios. An indoor pool and hot tub open towards the courtyard. Family suites connect a king room with a twin-queen room through a privacy door, providing more separation than a single shared bedroom. Dining ranges from pizza to prime rib across several venues, while live music, an arcade and pickleball courts add to the hotel's emphasis on activity and gathering.
