The Kitchen brings an Asian-influenced approach to modern American cooking in Jackson. Its contemporary building on North Glenwood Street reflects a menu guided by balance, clear presentation and seasonal fish, meat and vegetables. The dishes combine familiar foundations with sauces and accompaniments from across Asia. A recent menu pairs king salmon with red curry and black rice, black cod with a miso glaze, and scallops with yuzu-koshu curry. Mushroom ramen and General Tso tofu offer choices beyond meat and seafood. Cocktails, wine, beer, sake and cider extend the range of pairings. Desserts keep the kitchen’s inventive character, including a sesame brownie sundae with black-sesame ice cream and tahini caramel. The restaurant is part of Gavin Fine and Roger Freedman’s locally operated Fine Dining Restaurant Group.
