The Polar Museum

The Polar Museum provides a historical counterpoint to Tromsø's outdoor adventures. Part of UiT's museum organisation, it occupies a central waterfront address and presents the human story of northern exploration and life in the polar regions. Give it a proper place in the itinerary rather than using it only as shelter from poor weather. The visit is particularly useful early in a stay, when the region's landscapes can then be seen through a richer historical lens.
