The White Room

The White Room occupies the historic Witte Zaal at Anantara Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky, a dining room first opened in 1885. The preserved setting gives the restaurant a strong sense of occasion close to Amsterdam's Dam Square. The cooking follows the vision of Jacob Jan Boerma, using Dutch ingredients alongside influences gathered from other cuisines. Freshness, acidity and spice are recurring elements, bringing contrast to dishes that balance sweet, sour and bitter flavours. The relationship between room and menu is central to the experience. Nineteenth-century decoration surrounds contemporary food, allowing a meal to connect the hotel's history with a more modern culinary approach. With entrances through the hotel and from Warmoesstraat, The White Room can be an occasion in its own right during an Amsterdam visit. It rewards diners who want both a distinctive dining room and a kitchen with a clear, individual style.
