Tutka Bay Lodge
Alaska

Tutka Bay Lodge sits beside a fjord in Kachemak Bay, reached from Homer on Alaska’s southcentral coast. Its position at the edge of Kachemak Bay State Park and State Wilderness Park makes the lodge a base for exploring old-growth forest, intertidal shores and offshore islands. The operating season runs from May to September. Activities include ocean kayaking, marine wildlife watching, hiking and fishing for halibut and salmon. Food is another substantial part of the experience: chef Kirsten Dixon and her family draw on Alaska’s seafood and rustic cooking traditions, and the lodge’s culinary programme includes a cooking school.
