Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park
Northern Territory, Australia

Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa National Park belongs in any serious Oceania top ten because it combines monumental landscape with living cultural meaning. Visitors can walk at the base of Uluṟu, explore Kata Tjuṯa’s formations and use interpretation, ranger material and cultural spaces to understand why this is not simply a scenic stop. The park is best approached with patience and respect rather than a single sunrise photograph in mind. Its strength lies in the relationship between geology, management and Aṉangu country. That makes it a stronger inclusion than any looser Red Centre substitute. It is internationally recognised and practically visitable, yet the best experiences here still depend on listening, slowing down and observing cultural boundaries. Few Australian places combine such visual force with comparable interpretive depth.
