Visit Museum der Moderne on Mönchsberg
Mönchsberg, Austria
Museum der Moderne gives Salzburg’s cultural life a contemporary counterpoint to its baroque architecture and musical heritage. On Mönchsberg, the restrained modern building hosts changing exhibitions drawn from international art and the museum’s collections. The approach and outlook add a landscape dimension, but the galleries deserve time in their own right. Choose an exhibition that interests you, then extend the visit with a walk above the Old Town when conditions are suitable.
