Voile de la Mariée waterfall

Salazie, Réunion, France

Voile de la Mariée is one of Réunion’s most photographed waterfalls and a natural symbol of the Salazie valley. It is the kind of stop that works well on a cirque day: easy to appreciate from the roadside or viewpoint context, yet still dramatic enough to feel like a destination in its own right. The setting is part of its appeal, with steep, green mountain walls framing the fall. It ranks highly because it gives visitors an immediate sense of why Salazie is known as the kingdom of waterfalls. While Réunion has many cascades, this one stands out in official island introductions and is especially effective as an accessible scenic pause between Hell-Bourg, hiking start points and other cirque sights.
