Walk through Sefa Utaki
Nanjo, Japan

Sefa Utaki is a sacred Ryukyu site where woodland, limestone formations and places of prayer belong together. A respectful walk offers an introduction to the island’s spiritual history, with interpretation helping explain why the landscape matters. Some areas, including access into Sangui, are restricted for protection and safety. Check the opening calendar before travelling, as ritual closures occur twice a year, and buy admission at the designated ticket facility before entering.
