Wat Sri Suphan

Wat Sri Suphan offers a markedly different temple experience from Chiang Mai’s best-known old-city monuments. The Tourism Authority of Thailand’s official attraction page identifies it on Wualai Road in Tambon Hai Ya, Mueang Chiang Mai, and TAT’s Japanese-language official page gives the address in Chiang Mai 50100. Its appeal lies in that strong craft identity: this is the temple widely associated with Chiang Mai’s silver-working tradition, making it feel less like another standard temple stop and more like a meeting point between religion, decorative art and neighbourhood history. That makes it especially worthwhile for visitors who want range in their city itinerary rather than a sequence of near-identical temple visits. It also earns its place because of geography. Hai Ya and Wualai sit just south of the old city, so the temple fits naturally into a walking or short-hop route that extends beyond the main central grid without leaving the city boundary. I have avoided over-claiming on access specifics, because the official tourism pages establish identity and location more clearly than detailed visitor rules. Even so, the attraction is clearly current, clearly in Chiang Mai city and clearly distinct enough in character to justify its own place in a ranked list of in-city experiences.
