Young Island Resort sits on a thirteen-acre island immediately off St Vincent, reached by a private ferry crossing of around two minutes. Tropical gardens and a beach surround twenty-nine cottages, giving the property the feel of a small island neighbourhood. The cottages occupy different positions across the grounds. Wicker furnishings, local art and louvred wooden blinds bring a recognisable Caribbean character to the rooms without making every category identical. Meals are served in open-air thatched huts beside the beach, using local fish, fruit and vegetables alongside a changing programme of dinners, barbecues and buffets. This close grouping of gardens, cottages and dining lets guests spend a day on the island while keeping the mainland within easy reach.
