Yyldyz Hotel rises from a hill above Ashgabat, its curved, teardrop-shaped tower visible across the capital. The nineteen-storey building contains 155 rooms and suites, with views towards the city and the Kopet Dag mountains. Its name means ‘star’ in Turkmen. A panoramic restaurant and bar make use of the elevated position. The wider hotel includes a spa and wellness area, a heated outdoor pool, tennis courts and landscaped grounds. A large banqueting hall adds substantial event space alongside the rooms, giving the building functions beyond its role as a skyline landmark.
