Zannier Omaanda

Zannier Omaanda brings a village of thatched houses to a private wildlife reserve near Windhoek. The accommodation takes inspiration from Owambo architecture, with rounded forms, earth tones and hand-finished details giving the lodge a strong connection to its Namibian setting. One- and two-bedroom huts look towards the Khomas Hochland Plateau. Terraces create space to sit with the landscape, while fireplaces and generous bathrooms make the interiors part of the retreat. The larger huts work particularly well for families or friends travelling together. Ambo Delights provides the lodge's dining focus, using seasonal ingredients and giving local meat a prominent place on its evening menu. Poolside and private meals add flexibility around the day's activities. Omaanda's appeal lies in combining wildlife encounters with a relatively convenient position near the capital. It suits the beginning or end of a Namibian journey, while its individual houses and open views also make a persuasive case for allowing more than a brief stop.
