Zen looks over Crane Beach from The Crane Resort on Barbados' southeast coast. An all-glass frontage keeps the coastline in view, while Japanese-style private booths and a recessed-floor tatami room offer more secluded dining for groups. The menu spans Japanese and Thai cooking. Sushi, sashimi, tempura and teriyaki dishes sit alongside Thai curries, noodles and seafood. Duck and lychee curry combines coconut milk, red curry and basil, while snapper is steamed with herbs, lime and chilli. Separate Thai and Japanese tasting menus provide a more structured meal, with the latter bringing together sushi, tempura and teriyaki chicken in a bento-style main course.
