The Restaurant at Zero George, formerly known as Zero Restaurant + Bar, gives Charleston a contemporary tasting-menu experience. Chef Vinson Petrillo’s cooking centres on a seasonally evolving tasting menu, with local ingredients used in a sequence of contemporary dishes. The approach gives equal attention to flavour, texture and presentation. A recent menu included sweet-pea tortellini with ham broth and sea scallop, illustrating the combination of familiar ingredients and more elaborate construction. Courses change as the kitchen responds to the season. Wine and non-alcoholic pairings can accompany the menu. The separate eight-seat Caviar Bar offers a more specialised experience within the property, focused on caviar service. Together, the restaurant and bar give Zero George a dining identity that extends beyond its role as a Charleston hotel.
